I visited McGill University in early November of 2024. A couple of university professors took me to Ferreira for dinner as I told them earlier that I liked seafood. There was a lot of options even among seafood. I ordered a salmon dish. The others ordered a variety of dishes. The dishes were plentiful. Later, we ordered a sampler of desserts. All dishes were very tasty. They were a little bit on the pricey side though. Overall, it was a very good dinner.

After a cocktail reception, we popped into Ferreira for some appetizers and wine. We sat at the bar and could not have had better service. We split two delightful appetizers and had some lovely wine. Ferreira was the perfect ending to the evening.

I recently attended a work event at Cafe Ferreira, and it was a fantastic experience! We arrived at 9 PM with a group of 10 and enjoyed a table d'hote menu that included steak, prawns, veggies, and mushroom risotto. Everything was served buffet style, which made it easy for everyone to grab what they wanted, and the meal also included dessert. I have to say, my favorites were definitely the prawns and the risotto - both were absolutely delicious! The service was top-notch as well; the staff was attentive and came around often for refills. Overall, a great spot for a group event, and I would definitely recommend it!

Food: Exceptionally fresh seafood. We ordered: 1) Seafood Platter: if you have two or more diners, don't second guess. Just get it. 2) Roasted Sardines: one of our favorite dishes of the night. 3) Daily Catch: Incredible sea bream with an amazing chickpea salad and veggies. Everything perfectly cooked and seasoned. 4) Bouillabaisse: Highlight of the night. A must-try dish. Service: Top notch. Attentive but not overbearing despite the fact that it was super super busy even on a Monday night. Ambiance: We were seated in a quieter corner in the back and it was very nice.

It was very good but it expensive! Thank goodness I was celebrating my birthday! So it kinda justifies the splurge. Getting 4 stars bc it was more expensive than I expected. It was best the hotel we stayed do we decided to give it a try. Service was great, the rice seafood casserole n risotto comes in a pot served nice n hot. The seafood bouillabaisse was good. The giant shrimp was undercooked. I know seafood is expensive. But wow! I almost fainted when I saw the bill! CA$400 w tip. The pastel the Nata was ok, was not crispy as the ones I had in Lisbon, $11 for 2? Not worth it. Skip it. Since it was my birthday I hit a nice candle w my desert. So nice! I forgot my phone so I didn't get to take pics. So my sis send them to me. Also the lighting was dark so the foid pics didn't come out good.

I didn't know food could taste this good! The service was attentive and very friendly. We had the bread, sardine appetizer, seafood rice, duck risotto, chocolate mousse and beignets. The only thing that wasn't spectacular was the beignets. We also had a couple of unique wines.

When in Montreal, make sure to make it to this fine establishment. I am Portuguese and always seeking out native flavors. The cocktails are amazing. Full bar. Great wine list. I had the seafood rice casserole that was out of this world. It, surprisingly, was served w a touch of cilantro which was refreshing but unexpected. My husband had the filet (no knife needed) served in a delectable sauce w veggies and fries. For dessert, the beignets. I would come back here in a heart beat! So good! Service was amazing.

A beautiful restaurant in downtown Montreal featuring Portuguese influenced seafood and more. when our cab pulled up in front of Ferreira Cafe, it looked a little unassuming, but after stepping inside and seeing the stunning interior, we were very impressed. The menu is extensive with something for everyone, but we stuck to seafood. I had the Bouillabaisse and it was delicious. Everyone in my group had something different and everyone left happy. We chose two excellent wines from their Wine Spectator awarded list and capped dinner off with two of their fabulous dessert sampler plates. Top notch service. Fairly priced especially when the exchange rate is factored in. highly recommended.
